Senior Thesisback to the collection

Issey Miyake’s effects are gentle, beautifully presented with no harsh edges to give a woman the visual aspect of floating in space. He brings fashion to the world while envisioning the naturalness of a woman. Each look in this six piece senior thesis was inspired by the movements and drape that Issey Miyake brilliantly brought to design compounded with the complexity and depth of a woman's personality through structure and details. This collection is the expression of a woman’s versatility conveyed by layers removed to unveil the soft elements and intricate beauty drawn from theories of Miyake’s design. Fabrics include a mix from silk satins, chiffons, and douppioni, to denims, heavy and light wools as well as a varying array of patterns and textures. Intricate details are portrayed through hand beading and studs as well as a textile slashing technique seen throughout the collection. The High Line in New York City was the chosen location furthering the multilayered aspects of the collection and the woman through the idea of nature built upon old structural raised railroad tracks. It is an environment of gardens and nature while overlooking city buildings.
